# G5 Trail Collective
> The G5 Trail Collective, in partnership with the US Forest Service and local communities, is dedicated to developing and maintaining trails in Western North Carolina's Grandfather Ranger District. Following damage from Hurricane Helene, significant efforts are underway to restore access and rebuild infrastructure, with over 250 miles of trails now open. The site details ongoing projects like the Old Fort Gateway Trails and Mortimer Trails, community involvement through volunteering and donations, and fundraising events such as bike giveaways.
